Chronology

In the midst of an international crisis, Kate Wyler, a career diplomat, is given a high-profile job for which she is ill-suited, with tectonic implications for her marriage and political future. The producers convinced both American & British governments to allow them to use real environments as filming locations for the series, including the still recent US embassy (at Nine Elms) which opened in 2018. Britain allowed filming inside the Foreign Secretary’s office, a rare honor given to any film or film production , especially American.

Although it is accurately described as occupying the largest plot of residential land (11 hectares) in London other than Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming purposes. I binge watched The Night Agent, I thought it couldn’t get much better than that, I was wrong. I loved every second of this series.

So cerebral and fascinating

Everything you could want in a series. The characters and acting were first class. It was great to see the wonderful Rufus Sewell again and what a role he played, never knowing what he would come up with next.

Played to perfection

Keri Russell was simply magnificent as the ambassador. I also loved David Gyasi. All in all, a wonderful series, maybe a little short, but worth watching.

The best political show since The West Wing
